Micro Arc Welder

Micro Arc Welder is:

  • Ultra precision TIG spot welder (micro shot arc welder) capable of fine control of time and current.
  • Pulsed arc is discharged between the torch and work piece with a 0.5 to 1mm gap.
  • Good for solderless connecton of coil end; spherical processing of the end of catheter, medical instruments, bulbs; sealing of the end of pipe

System configuration of micro shot arc welder:

  • Power supply: generates trigger voltage to make an electric pathway and turns on the set pulsed welding current. NG signal is sent, if necessary, by the feedback conrol system.
  • Micro shot arc welder is composed of the power supply control unit, torch and earth cable.
  • Tritan electrode is used at the top of the torch where Ar gas is blown off for cooling and inhibited oxidation.
  • The earth cable is connected to the side of work piece. The pattern of earth is varied according to the current value, time and waveshape.

Advantages of micro arc shot welding:

  • It is possible to weld with as small spot size as laser welding.
  • Non-contact processing with no mechanical pressure minimizes deformation and damage to a work piece.
  • Maintenance of electrode is easy.
  • It is possible to weld high-melting point materials and highly conductive materials such as copper, as well as joining between different metals.
  • For welding at the coil end, there is no dwindling of wire.
  • Positioing can be doen relatively easily. Thanks to ease of operation, automatization is easily applied.

Inner nozzle:

"Climbing of arc" is a unique pheomenon of arc dischare. Arc dischareged from the top of the electrode climbs up along the electrode for oxide. You will see arc discharged from the side of the electrode. This phenomenon causes extinguished arc (no arc discharge), varied positioning of arc discharge, varied arc density, generation of noise and others.
"Inner nozzle" (patent pending) is used at the top of the torch in order to prevent the above-mentioned problems.
Use of the "inner nozzle" prevents occurrence of "climbing of arc" is very effectively.
